Twitter Weekly Updates for 2010-01-31

  • Why do the TV licensing people presume that everybody watches TV? I have a TV, yes – connected to aerial? No. Tuned? No. Movies & Xbox FWIW. #
  • Chasing a database connection issue around in circles for half an hour. Need 60ml of Espresso. Stat! #
  • Today I wrote 100 lines of code and removed 130 lines of code. Progress! :) #
  • When did we all get so reliant on email? With letters & memos responses were expected within a day or two, not within minutes! @JaffaBrown #
  • Just got back from the Victory Pub & Grill after a productive long meeting & catchup with Internal Comms guru @FerStaberinde. #
  • RT @chrija: Received my apple tablet today. http://tinyurl.com/y9sfftx Delicious. #
  • Farnborough is at -4 degrees celsius tonight. The coldest walk-home-in-the-freezing-air experience since Toronto in 2005… #
  • Any bookies taking bets on what the name of the Apple Tablet is going to be called? iSlate? iPad? iTablet? iNote? iBook? #
  • Extensions and Bookmark sync is finally available on Google Chrome. It's about time, guys & gals! #
  • My prediction: In precisely 28 minutes Apple will announce the iCar with integrated iTunes. #
  • Isn't this a palpable web of intrigue? uStream commentary: http://bit.ly/5r8rcE Engadget: http://bit.ly/90OphY Gizmodo: http://bit.ly/cWxMAv #
  • $999 for an iPhone with a bigger screen and a bigger battery. Sorry Apple, but this is #FAIL #
  • Cleaner to Aisle three at Amazon headquarters. The Kindle is dead. #TWIT. ($499 for Apple's glorified fat iPhone, the "iPad") #
  • Maybe the next iPad will be called the Max-iPad. #
  • No multitasking, no HDMI, USB, SD. No camera, no phone, no SMS. But for $10 more than a Kindle, it's the ultimate eBook & movie player. #
  • RE: iPad – the US pricing rarely translates across the pond into UK/EMEA region pricing. Anyone have an update on £how much and from where? #
  • iPhone SDK 3.2 Beta is out. Before I can use it I have to sign an 18,732 word legal document from Apple. Seriously, guys? Are you kidding? #
  • The Poverty Line is set at £236 per week = £944 per month. Is that really classed as Poverty? I call that inefficient use of cash. #
  • Brilliant entertainment for anyone who's had to work with Agile: Hitlers #Agile #Development Team : http://bit.ly/Cy4pL #fail (thanks @r5d4) #
  • Ok, that's Pizza Express done. Now to code something fun for a bit. #
  • I'm feeling like I really need a holiday. Methinks I will have to look for good deals on a quick city break or two. #
  • Just taking a look at the latest HIGHER tier Physics GSCE paper. http://bit.ly/9jMVUe – This paper is the sort of thing we did at KS3=13yrs! #
  • Wow, so YouTube is now running HTML 5 beta? This oughta be good! (thanks for the heads up @steven_amani) #
